Determining the interaction of Indomethacin ER and Retrovir and the possibility of their joint administration.

Consumer:Using zidovudine together with indomethacin may increase the risk of bleeding in HIV-positive patients with hemophilia. However, the interaction is not fully understood, and evidence is limited. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any concerns. Professional:MONITOR: Limited clinical data suggest that the concomitant use of zidovudine with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents may increase the risk of hematological toxicity and/or bleeding in HIV-positive patients with hemophilia. The mechanism is unknown.
MANAGEMENT: It is recommended to monitor patients for side effects and bleeding during concomitant use.
