Abiraterone acetate and Complete Allergy
Determining the interaction of Abiraterone acetate and Complete Allergy and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Abiraterone may increase the blood levels and effects of diphenhydrAMINE. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: Coadministration with abiraterone acetate may increase the plasma concentrations of drugs that are substrates of the CYP450 2D6 isoenzyme. The mechanism is decreased clearance due to inhibition of CYP450 2D6 activity by abiraterone. When dextromethorphan, a CYP450 2D6 substrate, was given with abiraterone acetate 1,000 mg daily and prednisone 5 mg twice daily, dextromethorphan peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) increased by 2.8- and 2.9-fold, respectively, compared to administration alone.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised if abiraterone acetate must be used concurrently with drugs that undergo metabolism by CYP450 2D6. Dosage adjustments as well as clinical and laboratory monitoring may be appropriate for some drugs whenever abiraterone acetate is added to or withdrawn from therapy. Concomitant use of abiraterone acetate and substrates of CYP450 2D6 with a narrow therapeutic index (e.g., antiarrhythmics) should be avoided if possible.
