Using cycloSPORINE together with acetaZOLAMIDE may increase the effects of cycloSPORINE. Contact your doctor if you experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, fatigue, or headache. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (CAIs) may increase serum cyclosporine levels. The mechanism is unknown. Cyclosporine-induced neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity could result.

MANAGEMENT: If cyclosporine and a CAI are used together, cyclosporine levels and renal function, including serum creatinine, should be carefully monitored. Cyclosporine dosage should be adjusted as needed. Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, fatigue, or headache.
