Consumer:

Daclatasvir may increase the blood levels and effects of metFORMIN. You may need a dose adjustment if you have been receiving metFORMIN and are starting treatment with daclatasvir. Likewise, if you have been receiving both medications, the dose of metFORMIN may need to be adjusted if daclatasvir is discontinued. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Coadministration with daclatasvir may increase the systemic exposure and risk of adverse effects of drugs that are substrates of the hepatic uptake transporter, organic cation transporter 1 (OCT1). The proposed mechanism is decreased clearance due to daclatasvir-mediated inhibition of OCT1. The clinical significance is unknown.

MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised if daclatasvir is used concomitantly with drugs that are substrates of OCT1, particularly those with a narrow therapeutic range. Dosage adjustments as well as clinical and laboratory monitoring should be considered whenever daclatasvir is added to or withdrawn from therapy with these drugs. Patients should also be monitored for the development of adverse effects.
