Adalat CC and Pioglitazone Hydrochloride
Determining the interaction of Adalat CC and Pioglitazone Hydrochloride and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:According to the pioglitazone labeling, coadministration of pioglitazone for 7 days with extended-release nifedipine 30 mg (brand not specified) orally once daily for 4 days to male and female volunteers resulted in slightly decreased bioavailability of nifedipine. The clinical significance of this finding is unknown. However, given the high variability of nifedipine pharmacokinetics, it may be appropriate to monitor patients for potentially diminished therapeutic effects of nifedipine when given with pioglitazone.
