Adenovirus type 4 and type 7 live vaccine is used to prevent febrile (with fever) acute respiratory disease (ARD) caused by adenovirus type 4 and type 7. It works by causing your body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the virus.

This vaccine is given to military personnels 17 to 50 years of age.

Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Codeine is a narcotic cough suppressant. It affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

Chlorpheniramine, codeine, and pseudoephedrine is a combination medicine used to treat runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, cough, and sinus congestion caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu.

chlorpheniramine, codeine, and pseudoephedrine will not treat a cough that is caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema.
