Professional:Omeprazole may increase the absorption or interfere with the metabolism of at least one dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB)--nifedipine. The pharmacologic effect of nifedipine may be enhanced. Although unlikely to be of clinical significance, when omeprazole and a CCB are coadministered, monitoring for CCB toxicity should be considered.
