Aldomet and Glimepiride
Determining the interaction of Aldomet and Glimepiride and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Methyldopa may inhibit the metabolism of some antidiabetic agents. The serum half-life and the effectiveness of those agents may be increased, and unexpected hypoglycemia could result. When methyldopa is added to or deleted from a medical regimen that includes antidiabetic agents, the patient should be made aware of this interaction. Blood glucose should be checked more frequently, if necessary.
