Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.

Professional:

Levodopa may enhance the antihypertensive effect of methyldopa. Data are conflicting regarding the benefit of adding methyldopa to the medical regimen of patients who have Parkinson's disease and who are already receiving levodopa. Some patients improve, but others worsen. Clinicians should be aware that combination therapy increases the risk of hypotension and that its effectiveness is unpredictable in patients with Parkinson's disease.
