Professional:According to the product labeling, coadministration of almotriptan (12.5 mg single oral dose) with verapamil (120 mg sustained-release tablets twice a day for 7 days) in healthy volunteers resulted in a 24% increase in almotriptan peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and a 20% increase in systemic exposure (AUC). The proposed mechanism is verapamil inhibition of almotriptan metabolism via CYP450 3A4. Dosage adjustments should not be necessary.
