Sulfasalazine is used to treat and prevent ulcerative colitis. It works inside the bowels by helping to reduce the inflammation and other symptoms of the disease.

Sulfasalazine enteric-coated tablets are used to treat adults and children with rheumatoid arthritis in patients who have not been helped by or who cannot tolerate other medicines (eg, salicylates or NSAIDs) for rheumatoid arthritis.

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Phenylephrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

Dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, and phenylephrine is a combination medicine used to treat cough, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu.

dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, and phenylephrine will not treat a cough that is caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema.
