Altocor and Bydureon
Determining the interaction of Altocor and Bydureon and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Coadministration with exenatide may decrease the plasma concentrations of lovastatin. The mechanism of interaction has not been described. Lovastatin peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) were decreased approximately 28% and 40%, respectively, and time to reach peak plasma concentration (Tmax) was delayed about 4 hours when exenatide (10 mcg twice daily) was administered concomitantly with a single dose of lovastatin (40 mg) compared with lovastatin administered alone. The clinical significance of these changes is unknown. In 30-week controlled clinical trials of exenatide, the use of exenatide in patients receiving HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors was not associated with consistent changes in lipid profiles compared to baseline.
