Anidulafungin Intravenous and Gengraf
Determining the interaction of Anidulafungin Intravenous and Gengraf and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Coadministration with cyclosporine may modestly increase the plasma concentrations of anidulafungin. The mechanism has not been described. In 12 healthy adult subjects, coadministration of anidulafungin (200 mg loading dose followed by 100 mg/day on days 1 to 8) and cyclosporine (1.25 mg/kg twice daily on days 5 to 8) resulted in a 22% increase in the steady-state systemic exposure (AUC) of anidulafungin and no significant change in the peak plasma concentration (Cmax). A separate in vitro study showed that anidulafungin has no effect on the metabolism of cyclosporine. No dosage adjustment of either drug is warranted during coadministration.
