Coadministration with eslicarbazepine acetate has been shown to modestly decrease the plasma concentrations of lamotrigine. The mechanism of interaction has not been established. In healthy study subjects, lamotrigine systemic exposure (AUC) decreased by an average of 15% when coadministered with eslicarbazepine acetate 1200 mg once daily. This change is not considered clinically significant, and no dosage adjustments are required.
