Aripiprazole ODT and Khapzory Injection

Aripiprazole is an antipsychotic medicine that is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder (manic depression). It is not known if aripiprazole is safe or effective in children younger than 13 with schizophrenia, or children younger than 10 with bipolar disorder.

Aripiprazole is also used together with other medicines to treat major depressive disorder in adults.

Aripiprazole is also used in children 6 years or older who have Tourette's disorder, or symptoms of autistic disorder (irritability, aggression, mood swings, temper tantrums, and self-injury).

Khapzory is used to treat or prevent toxic effects of methotrexate in people who have received methotrexate to treat bone cancer.

Khapzory is also used to treat or prevent toxic effects of methotrexate in people whose bodies do not eliminate methotrexate properly after the drug is metabolized. This medicine may also be used to treat toxic effects of an overdose or methotrexate or certain other medications.

Khapzory is also used in combination chemotherapy with fluorouracil to treat colorectal cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. This medicine treats only the symptoms of colorectal cancer but does not treat the cancer itself.

Khapzory should not be used to treat anemia that is caused by a lack of vitamin B12.
