Atracurium Besylate Injection and Baci-IM injection
Determining the interaction of Atracurium Besylate Injection and Baci-IM injection and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Using atracurium together with bacitracin can prolong the effects of atracurium. You should be closely monitored for prolong breathing cessation and respiratory paralysis after use of bacitracin. You may need a dose adjustment or special test if you use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: Like other polypeptide antibiotics, systemically administered bacitracin may prolong apnea and respiratory paralysis associated with the use of nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents. The mechanism may involve decreased intracellular potassium or decreased ionized serum calcium, as intravenous calcium administration has been reported to be helpful in reversing paralysis caused by polymyxin B in some cases.
MANAGEMENT: Patients should be closely monitored for prolonged or excessive neuromuscular blockade.
