Using atropine together with aluminum hydroxide can decrease the effects of atropine. Aluminum hydroxide should be separated from oral atropine by 3 to 4 hours. You may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Concurrent administration of antacids or adsorbent antidiarrheal agents may decrease the oral bioavailability of atropine.

MANAGEMENT: Doses of antacids or adsorbent antidiarrheals should be separated from oral atropine by 3 to 4 hours.
