Professional:

In vitro studies have shown significant inhibition of the formation of oxidized irbesartan metabolites when given concomitantly with the known 2C9 substrate/inhibitors tolbutamide and nifedipine. However, in clinical studies, the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of irbesartan were not significantly affected. No special precautions appear necessary.
