Aviane (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) is a combination birth control pill containing female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). Aviane also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.

Aviane is used as contraception to prevent pregnancy. There are many available brands of ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel. Not all brands are listed on this leaflet.

Chlorpheniramine and methscopolamine are antihistamines that reduce the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

PCM-LA is a combination medicine used to treat cough, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu.

PCM-LA will not treat a cough that is caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema.
