Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.

Professional:

The plasma concentration of pindolol has been reported to have been slightly increased due to coadministration of trimethoprim. The mechanism is inhibition of the renal elimination of pindolol by trimethoprim. The prescriber should be aware that a slight change in the beta blocking activity of pindolol may occur if trimethoprim is added to or discontinued from the patient's therapy.
