Betamethasone is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

Calcipotriene is a form of vitamin D. It works by decreasing the rate of skin cell reproduction.

Betamethasone and calcipotriene topical (for the skin) is a combination medicine used to treat plaque psoriasis.

Adults may use the suspension (liquid) form of betamethasone and calcipotriene on the skin or the scalp. The liquid may be used only on the scalp in children who are at least 12 years old.

Betamethasone and calcipotriene topical foam or ointment should be used only on the skin and only by adults.

Exjade (deferasirox) binds to iron and removes it from the bloodstream.

Exjade is used to treat iron overload caused by blood transfusions in adults and children at least 2 years old.

Exjade is also used to treat chronic iron overload syndrome caused by a genetic blood disorder (non-transfusion-dependent thalassemia) in adults and children who are at least 10 years old.
