Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a severe form of an allergic reaction and rash. The rash can be generalized and can appear as lesions on the soles of the feet, palms and inside the mouth. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:GENERALLY AVOID: Limited clinical data have suggested that coadministration of metronidazole and mebendazole may be associated with Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis. The mechanism is unknown.
MANAGEMENT: It is recommended that concomitant use of mebendazole and metronidazole should be avoided.
