Bromaline and Parlodel
Determining the interaction of Bromaline and Parlodel and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Using bromocriptine together with pseudoephedrine may alter the effects of both medications. Contact your doctor if you experience increased blood pressure and heart rate, seizure, or other mental status changes. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: The combination of bromocriptine and pseudoephedrine has led to postpartum psychosis in one report. The mechanism may be due to synergistic effects of both drugs on the dopaminergic system. In addition, tachycardia, increased blood pressure, and seizure have been reported when other sympathomimetic drugs were given concomitantly. Although this interaction is potentially rare, and causality is not definite, the clinician should exercise caution when these two agents are coadministered.
MANAGEMENT: If these two drugs must be taken concurrently, the patient's cardiovascular and mental status should be closely monitored.
