Bupivacaine liposome and bupivacaine both contain the same medication and should generally not be used together. After treatment with bupivacaine liposome, at least 4 days (96 hours) should pass before using bupivacaine.

ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: The use of bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension followed by other bupivacaine formulations has not been studied in clinical trials. Injection of bupivacaine hydrochloride immediately before bupivacaine liposome suspension may impact the pharmacokinetic and/or physicochemical properties of the drugs when the milligram dose of bupivacaine HCl solution exceeds 50% of the bupivacaine liposome dose.

MANAGEMENT: Other formulations of bupivacaine should not be administered within 96 hours following the administration of bupivacaine liposome injectable suspension.
