Butisol Sodium and Disopyramide Sustained-Release Capsules
Determining the interaction of Butisol Sodium and Disopyramide Sustained-Release Capsules and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Using butabarbital together with disopyramide may decrease the effects of disopyramide. Contact your doctor if your experience lightheadedness, dizziness, palpitations, irregular heartbeats, chest pain, dry mouth, or urinary retention. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: Barbiturates may decrease the serum concentration of disopyramide resulting in reduced antiarrhythmic efficacy and increased anticholinergic side effects. The mechanism may be induction of the CYP450 3A4 metabolism of disopyramide. Phenobarbital is the only barbiturate specifically implicated in this interaction. However, other barbiturates are also enzyme inducers and may behave in a similar fashion.
MANAGEMENT: Close observation for clinical and laboratory evidence of altered disopyramide effect is indicated. Patients should be advised to notify their physician if they experience lightheadedness, syncope, palpitations, irregular heartbeats, chest pain, dry mouth, or urinary retention.
