Calcitonin is a man-made form of a hormone that occurs naturally in the thyroid gland.

Calcitonin injection is used to treat Paget's disease of bone, or high levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia). Calcitonin injection is also used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

Injectafer (ferric carboxymaltose) is an iron replacement product. You normally get iron from the foods you eat. Iron helps your body produce red blood cells that carry oxygen through your blood to tissues and organs.

Injectafer is used in adults to treat iron deficiency anemia (a lack of red blood cells caused by having too little iron in the body).

Injectafer is usually given after oral (taken by mouth) iron replacement medicines have been tried without success.
