Carbamazepine Extended-Release Tablets and Nutropin Subcutaneous, Injection
Determining the interaction of Carbamazepine Extended-Release Tablets and Nutropin Subcutaneous, Injection and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Using somatropin together with carBAMazepine may decrease the effects of carBAMazepine. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or if you experience seizures and other mental status changes. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: Coadministration with inducers of CYP450 3A4 may decrease the plasma concentrations and pharmacologic effects of carbamazepine, which is primarily metabolized by the isoenzyme. The interaction has been reported with known CYP450 3A4 inducers such as phenobarbital, phenytoin, and primidone.
MANAGEMENT: Pharmacologic effects and serum concentrations of carbamazepine should be monitored more closely whenever a CYP450 3A4 inducer is added to or withdrawn from therapy, and the carbamazepine dosage adjusted as necessary.
