Carbetapentane is a cough suppressant. It affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

Carbetapentane and pseudoephedrine is a combination medicine used to treat cough, stuffy nose, and sinus congestion caused by allergies, sinus infections, or the common cold.

This medication will not treat a cough that is caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema.

Carbetapentane and pseudoephedrine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Kynamro (mipomersen) is a cholesterol-lowering medication. It reduces blood levels of "bad" cholesterol, such as low-density lipoprotein (LDL), apolipoprotein-B (apo-B), or non-high-density lipoprotein (non-HDL).

Kynamro is used together with a low-fat diet and other treatments to lower total cholesterol in people with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (an inherited type of high cholesterol). Kynamro is not for use in people with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.

It is not known whether Kynamro will lower your risk of heart disease.
