Consumer:

Using delavirdine together with quiNIDine may increase the levels of quiNIDine and affect the rhythm of your heart. Contact your doctor if you experience a new or worsening irregular heartbeat pattern, restlessness, dizziness, headache, swelling, and difficulty breathing. You may need a dose adjustment or special test if you use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Concomitant administration may increase plasma concentrations of antiarrhythmic agents. The mechanism is inhibition of CYP450 3A4 and/or 2D6 metabolism by delavirdine. Increased levels of bepridil may be associated with life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias.

MANAGEMENT: Therapeutic concentration monitoring, if available, and close clinical monitoring of patient response and tolerance is recommended.
