Consumer:Talk to your doctor before using dilTIAZem together with dantrolene. Combining these medications may cause high blood potassium levels and irregular heart rhythm. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if you experience nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, tingling, muscle weakness, slow heartbeat, and/or weak pulse during treatment with these medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:GENERALLY AVOID: Several case reports have suggested that the combination of verapamil and dantrolene may cause hyperkalemia and myocardial depression. The mechanism is unknown. Causality was not definitely established due to the presence of other drugs. Diltiazem may also interact.
MANAGEMENT: The manufacturer recommends that concomitant administration should generally be avoided.
