Ceftaroline injection is used to treat acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) in adults and children 2 months of age and older.

Ceftaroline injection belongs to the class of medicines known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, ceftaroline will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.

Ceftaroline is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Lidocaine injection is also given in an epidural (spinal block) to reduce the discomfort of contractions during labor.
