Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to help relieve symptoms of moderate to severe arthritis (eg, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis) or gout, such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain.
