Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium Capsules and Pepcid Injection

Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peen). Chlordiazepoxide affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced.

Clidinium reduces stomach acid and decreases intestinal spasms.

Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium is a combination medicine that may be effective in treating stomach ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, or symptoms related to intestinal infection. Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium is given together with other medications to treat these conditions. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has determined that chlordiazepoxide and clidinium is "possibly" effective in treating these conditions.

Pepcid (famotidine) is a histamine-2 blocker that works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces.

Pepcid is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Pepcid also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.
