Chloroquine is used to prevent and treat malaria. It is also used to treat liver infection caused by protozoa (extraintestinal amebiasis).

Chloroquine belongs to a group of medicines known as antimalarials. It works by preventing or treating malaria, a red blood cell infection transmitted by the bite of a mosquito. However, chloroquine is not used to treat severe or complicated malaria and to prevent malaria in areas or regions where chloroquine is known not to work (resistance).

Chloroquine is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Sovaldi (sofosbuvir) is an antiviral medication that prevents hepatitis C virus (HCV) from multiplying in your body.

Sovaldi is used in combination with other medications to treat chronic hepatitis C in adults and children who are at least 3 years old.

Sovaldi treats specific genotypes of hepatitis C, and only in certain people. Use only the medications prescribed for you. Do not share your medicine with other people.

Sovaldi must be given in combination with other antiviral medications and should not be used alone. Sofosbuvir is usually given with ribavirin, with or without peginterferon alfa.

Sovaldi is sometimes used in people who also have HIV, or people who have liver cancer and are going to have a liver transplant. This medicine is not a treatment for HIV or AIDS.
