Choline magnesium trisalicylate and Propranolol Oral Solution (Hemangeol)
Determining the interaction of Choline magnesium trisalicylate and Propranolol Oral Solution (Hemangeol) and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:High doses of salicylates may blunt the antihypertensive effects of beta-blockers. The proposed mechanism is inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Low-dose aspirin does not appear to affect blood pressure. In addition, beta-blockers may exert an antiplatelet effect, which may be additive with the effects of some salicylates. Metoprolol may also increase aspirin absorption and/or plasma concentrations of salicylates; however, the clinical significance of this effect is unknown. Data have been conflicting. Until more information is available, patients who require concomitant therapy should be monitored for altered antihypertensive response whenever a salicylate is introduced or discontinued, or when its dosage is modified.
