Consumer:

Using flecainide together with cimetidine may increase the effects of flecainide. Contact your doctor if you experience tiredness, dizziness, confusion, difficulty breathing, heart attack, and a worsening irregular heartbeat. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Cimetidine may decrease the hepatic biotransformation or increase the bioavailability of flecainide. The time during which maximum plasma flecainide concentrations occur may be prolonged. No special precautions appear to be necessary in patients with normal renal function.

MANAGEMENT: Clinical monitoring for altered response and dosage reductions may be required in patients with renal impairment. Famotidine, nizatidine and ranitidine are not expected to interact and may be considered as alternatives.
