A pharmacokinetic interaction between ciprofloxacin and diazepam has been reported in one study. Patients pretreated with ciprofloxacin experienced a prolongation of the elimination half-life of diazepam and a decrease in the plasma clearance of diazepam. These alterations in the kinetic parameters of diazepam were not associated with alterations in the pharmacologic effects of diazepam. The clinical implications of these findings are unknown.
