Consumer:Using carBAMazepine together with cisatracurium may decrease the effects of cisatracurium. Close observation is recommended if you are using both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Professional:MONITOR: Carbamazepine may reduce the effects or duration of nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents. The mechanism is unknown.
MANAGEMENT: Close observation for decreased neuromuscular blocking effect is recommended if a patient on carbamazepine must receive a nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent.
