Consumer:

Using clindamycin together with cycloSPORINE may decrease the effects of cycloSPORINE. Contact your doctor if your condition changes. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

MONITOR: Cyclosporine plasma concentrations may be reduced during coadministration with oral clindamycin. The mechanism is unknown.

MANAGEMENT: Cyclosporine levels should be monitored when clindamycin is initiated or discontinued in a patient previously stabilized on cyclosporine. Transplant patients should be observed for signs of rejection during concomitant therapy and for cyclosporine toxicity after discontinuation of clindamycin.
