Colestipol Suspension and Inderal XL
Determining the interaction of Colestipol Suspension and Inderal XL and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. The proposed mechanism is binding of propranolol by these resins. However, clinical data evaluating this interaction are limited. MANAGEMENT: Until more information is available, caution is advised if colestipol or cholestyramine are used concomitantly with propranolol. Propranolol should be administered at least 1 to 2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after cholestyramine or colestipol administration. Dosage adjustments as well as clinical monitoring of propranolol should be considered whenever colestipol or cholestyramine is added to or withdrawn from therapy. References "Product Information.
