Colistimethate injection is used to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body. It belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics that works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, colistimethate will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.

Colistimethate is to be given only by or under the direct supervision of your doctor.

Levonorgestrel is a female hormone that can cause changes in your cervix, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. Liletta is a plastic device that is placed in the uterus where it slowly releases the hormone to prevent pregnancy for up to 6 years.

Liletta is used to prevent pregnancy for up to 6 years. You may use this device whether you have children or not. Mirena is also used to treat heavy menstrual bleeding in women who choose to use an intrauterine form of birth control.

Levonorgestrel is a progestin hormone and does not contain estrogen. The intrauterine device (IUD) releases levonorgestrel in the uterus, but only small amounts of the hormone reach the bloodstream. Liletta should not be used as emergency birth control.
