Conivaptan Hydrochloride and Cyproheptadine

Used to increase serum sodium concentrations in hospitalized patients with euvolemic or hypervolemic hyponatremia. Use in patients with hypervolemic hyponatremia associated with heart failure only after consideration of other treatment options; limited data on safety in this patient population. Not indicated for the treatment of hypovolemic hyponatremia.

Use of conivaptan to increase serum sodium concentrations has not been established to provide symptomatic benefit to patients.

Not indicated for the treatment of CHF; efficacy not established for this indication.

Cyproheptadine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.

Cyproheptadine is used to treat sneezing, runny nose, itching, red or watery eyes, and other symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever). Cyproheptadine is also used to treat other conditions such as eczema or skin reactions to insect bites.

Cyproheptadine is sometimes used to treat certain types of headaches, including migraines.
