Hydrocortisone is a steroid medicine that reduces inflammation in the body.

Cortenema is used to treat hemorrhoids and itching or swelling of the rectal area caused by hemorrhoids or other inflammatory conditions of the rectum or anus.

Cortenema is also used together with other medications to treat ulcerative colitis, proctitis, and other inflammatory conditions of the lower intestines and rectal area.

Cortenema may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Desonate (desonide) is a corticosteroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

Desonate gel is used to treat mild to moderate atopic dermatitis in patients 3 months of age and older. Treatment should continue for the minimum amount of time as necessary to achieve the desired results.

Treatment with Desonate gel should not exceed 4 consecutive weeks.
