Coumadin and Lotensin
Determining the interaction of Coumadin and Lotensin and the possibility of their joint administration.
In the database of official manuals used in the service creation an interaction registered by statistical results of studies was found, which can either lead to negative consequences for the patient health or strengthen a mutual positive effect. A doctor should be consulted to address the issue of joint drug administration.
Consumer:Consumer information for this minor interaction is not currently available. Some minor drug interactions may not be clinically relevant in all patients. Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Limited data suggest that benazepril may slightly decrease the anticoagulant effect of warfarin. The mechanism is not known and warfarin pharmacokinetics are not affected. The clinical significance is unknown. Monitoring of the prothrombin time or INR is recommended. Patients should be advised to promptly report any signs of blood clots (e.g. chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden loss of vision, or pain, redness or swelling in an extremity).
