Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.

Professional:

Indinavir has been shown to increase the area under the plasma concentration-time curves of the reverse transcriptase inhibitors zidovudine and stavudine by up to 36% and 25%, respectively. Concomitant use has inconsistently affected indinavir plasma concentrations, which have increased by up to 13% or have shown no change. The mechanism of the interaction is not clearly understood, but it may be related to the effects of these drugs on hepatic enzymes. Dosage adjustments are unlikely to be necessary, although it may be appropriate to monitor the patient for zidovudine and/or stavudine toxicity.
