Consumer:

Ask your doctor before using linezolid together with morphine liposomal. Using these medications together can increase the blood levels or add to the side effects of morphine liposomal. This cans cause extreme drowsiness, pinpoint pupils, confusion, cold and clammy skin, weak pulse, shallow breathing, fainting, or even coma. You should wait 14 days after stopping an MAOI before you start using morphine liposomal. You may need a dose adjustment if you use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

GENERALLY AVOID: Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) markedly potentiate the action of morphine. Coadministration of narcotic analgesics including morphine in patients treated with MAOIs has rarely resulted in hypotension, respiratory depression, or coma. The mechanism is unknown but may be related to additive central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects.

MANAGEMENT: Morphine liposomal preparations should not be used in patients taking MAOIs or other agents which possess MAOI activity (e.g., furazolidone, procarbazine, selegiline), or within 14 days of stopping such treatment.
