Professional:MONITOR: Based on limited clinical data, severe hepatotoxicity has been associated with concomitant use of chlorpropamide and erythromycin ethylsuccinate. The mechanism of this interaction is unknown. Causality was not definitely established and both agents have individually been associated with hepatotoxicity.
MANAGEMENT: Liver function tests should be monitored and patients should be advised to report any symptoms such as abdominal pain, jaundice, dark urine, light stools, fever, or unusual fatigue.
