Minor drug interactions do not usually cause harm or require a change in therapy. However, your healthcare provider can determine if adjustments to your medications are needed.
Professional:Rifampin may decrease benzodiazepine serum levels. The mechanism is probably related to stimulation of the hepatic metabolism of benzodiazepines. Diazepam and triazolam have been specifically studied in this regard, although other benzodiazepines also may interact with rifampin. Additionally, rifabutin may have an interaction with benzodiazepines similar to that of rifampin.
