Consumer:Cisapride is no longer on the market in the US. Do not take cisapride with any other medication.
Professional:MONITOR: Cisapride may increase the rate but not the extent of diazepam absorption. In one study, coadministration of cisapride significantly increased impairment of reaction time in the first 45 minutes after diazepam administration.
MANAGEMENT: It is recommended that patients be monitored for excessive CNS depression during concomitant therapy. Patients should be advised to report prolonged or excessive sedation to their physician.
