Consumer:

Using didanosine together with ketoconazole may decrease the effects of ketoconazole. Separation of doses by two hours is recommended. It may be preferable to administer ketoconazole first. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Professional:

ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: The buffer system of didanosine may reduce absorption of ketoconazole by increasing gastric pH.

MANAGEMENT: Separation of doses by two hours is recommended. It may be preferable to give the ketoconazole dose first. Fluconazole does not appear to interact with didanosine. Patients should be monitored for altered antifungal effects.
